Culture In Motion

Streetwear is more than just clothing—it is history, identity, and self-expression woven into fabric. Rooted in Black culture, it has served as a canvas for individuality and a reflection of the times. Yet, beyond personal style, streetwear tells a deeper story: one of connection across generations. Culture in Motion is an exploration of this connection, highlighting how Black streetwear remains a unifying force despite differences in age and experience.

In this project, I examine how fashion serves as a visual dialogue between generations. While trends shi and styles evolve, the essence of streetwear—its confidence, creativity, and cultural significance—remains constant. Through my lens, I capture the nuances of this evolution, showing how older generations influence the younger and how new interpretations breathe life into classic styles. From the oversized silhouettes of the ‘90s to today’s mix of high fashion and street aesthetics, my work emphasizes the cyclical nature of fashion and the cultural threads that tie us together.

At its core, Culture in Motion is about more than just fashion; it is about legacy. It is about how Black streetwear continues to be a space for self-expression, resistance, and pride, no matter the era. By bringing different generations into the same frame, I aim to show that while age may separate us, our culture—our style— keeps us connected.
